BA Hons Professional Practice in Acting

The title of the degree I would like to achieve is BA Hons Professional Practice (Acting)
The major influences I have considered whilst deciding on my degree title are:
I am already a trained professional actress, singer and dancer.
My previous qualifications received at The Urdang Academy (Trinity National Diploma in professional Musical Theatre)
Acting is the field in which I have been working mostly since graduating.
I am at present and have worked mostly in theatre and film, playing primarily acting and singing parts.
I am constantly working in or auditioning for parts within the acting field, so my experience, access to experienced persons and knowledge is much wider than in any other field.

My research project is titled “title will be inserted in the next few days” in this I plan to research and obtain new information regarding all the recent controversies and debates regarding method acting and the risk it can have psychologically on an actor that uses it for long period of time.
To do this I will be doing in-depth research on acting and acting methods specializing in method acting and actors that use method acting.
It will be a massive learning process in which all the knowledge I already posses will be mixed in with new knowledge I learn, along with experiences I can find out through other actors to create a greater understanding within my field of work.
I decided to do this research as on a day-to-day basis I work surrounded by actors and techniques. Also I feel that it will help me in my future career.

I wish to peruse a long career in both Musical Theatre and acting. I already posses a National Diploma in musical theatre, however this alone can sometimes affect negatively the chances of being cast for straight acting auditions so I wish to obtain a degree in Acting, to give me more credibility and wider opportunities in my future career.
I believe from what I have experienced so far that by the time I finish this course and obtain my degree my skills of analysis and critique will have improved greatly helping with my performance skills and ability to give workshops in this field.
Another reason I would like to obtain this degree is so that in the future I would be able to take any teaching certificates if I were to decide to go into the field of Teaching. With this degree I can prove that I have a higher knowledge on the subject to go alongside my practical experiences In this day and age academic proof of knowledge is always required.
