Learning diary- finding a theme for my project.

Learning diary

I’m finding it very hard to write down things and ideas I come up with on the GO.
I generally come up with ideas when i'm on a tube or a bus or reading and listening to music. I always have a pen and notepad with me but I don’t realize they were worth writing down when I think them.

Since New Year I have been deliberating on what my project would be about.
About a year ago I was at a festival in Spain. There was a lot of different music playing, I sat on a distant wall and observed the musicians. In a big clearing just in front of the stage as different music’s would come on different people would let go and start dancing. As I watched this I saw hoe people who don’t have any interest in dancing cant help but let there body’s move as they hear the music.
What makes this reaction possible…in conclusion “What makes people dance?” this was my original idea from y project, however having investigated in a bit thoroughly ive come to realize, that realistically in the time scale we have this question is far too broad, also, I am not educated enough in the sciences needed to try and find an answer to this question.

I discarded this idea and started talking to friends and family about branches I could work with during this I met up with a friend I havnt seen for a long time as they were working abroad in a play.
While I was speaking to S.K about my ideas I came to realize that hoi manner of expressing himself and his opinions were different to the last time we had met up. I assumed maybe he had matured in some way, however as I got speaking to him he started to tell me about the character he played and about the research he had had to do for it. Funnily enough a lot of the characteristics he described of the character where the exact same ones I had notices where new in him. I asked him if having played the part now for five months he felt he had been affected by the character, he didn’t think had changed in anyway but had learnt a lot.

This got me thinking, when playing a character for a prolonged amount of time, how does this affect you, considering a show can me performed two to three time a day, five to six days a week. This is many times you become someone else, after that does that “someone else” stick with your own personality.

I have decided to use this as the theme for my project and would appreciate any ideas or comments anyone has on the case.

I have to admit, when you finally find something specific you really want to find out about the feeling is not only of relief but excitement :)
