She is also known for her starring roles in Hard Candy, Smart People, Whip It, Juno, and as Katherine "Kitty" Pryde in X-Men: The Last Stand. She also received attention in her native Canada for award-winning roles in Pit Pony and Marion Bridge, as well as television shows Trailer Park Boys and ReGenesis.

What makes her so special?

Ellen page is a very young actress; she is currently 22 years old.
She is an actress that I look up to not only for her talent but also her personality.
She has always been true to her heart, she never wanted to be in just another American teen movie, every project she has taken on has hit some personal interest of hers, be this a meaningful story or even her love for comics performing in “X-Men”
If you have ever seen an interview with her she appears so much older than her age, and knows exactly who she is.
Then we go on to her talent, If you look at her past works, she continually plays very different characters (Juno (Juno), Kitty(X-Men), Bliss Cavendar (Whip It), Hayley (Hard Candy), Vanessa (Smart people)
All of these characters become truly real, and usually touch you in some way; I find it’s a pleasure to watch her perform.
She is someone who I take an example from and aspire to be like.

KERRY ELLIS

Her official webpage HERE

Kerry Ellis (born 6 May 1979) is an English stage actress who has starred as Elphaba in the West End and Broadway productions of the musical Wicked. Among her previous notable roles are as Fantine in the West End production of Les Miserables and as Meat in the original London production of We Will Rock You.
Kerry Ellis, was moved to broadway to replace there Elphaba, as she was considered one of the ebst in the part.

I first saw her performing Meat in “We Will Rock You”, I was still very young but I remember watching the show fascinated and when she sang “only the good die young” been in tears, it was a breathtaking performance.
I then saw her again in Wicked as Elphaba, I was older by this time, and became a great fan from this one performance started to follow her.
A few months later I went to a friends bar, they have a band, and as I walked in Kerry Ellis were singing with them, I couldn’t believe it, right in front of me a live performance by one of my favourite musical theatre performers ever, she sang popular songs and had a good time, it was great! Really intimate and fun.
After the show I got a chance to meet and talk to her, and this is when I decided to make her one of my role models, she was lovely, honest and fun.
I had some really interesting conversations with her.
Even having become famous in the musical theatre business, she has kept to herself and just wants to carry on learning and enjoy performing, this is what I admire.

TAMARA ROJO

Official webpage

Tamara Rojo (born in 1974) is a Spanish prima ballerina, and is currently a Principal Dancer with the Royal Ballet in London.
Tamara was born in Montreal, Canada to Spanish parents who moved back to Spain when she was four months old. She started dancing at the age of 10 in VĂctor Ullate Dance Centre in Madrid (1983-1991), and completed her training under David Howard and Renatto Paroni. Tamara continued to work with the Ullate Company from 1991 to 1996. At the age of 20 she was offered a contract with the Scottish Ballet, by Galina Samsova. On her arrival at Scottish Ballet Tamara has jokingly said "I spoke no English at this time but it did not matter; neither did they." She would dance with them until her move to the English National Ballet in June 1997. There she was promoted to Principal Dancer in January 1998. She officially joined Royal Ballet as a Principal Dancer at the start of the 2000/2001 season, although she danced Giselle with the Royal Ballet at the end of the previous season in July 2000, at short notice and as a replacement for Darcey Bussell, who was injured

Why I admire her?

Naturally been originally Spanish, it gives me great pride to have her as on of the principals at the royal ballet.
I have been following her for years, as when I was little and I aspired to be a ballet dancer she was who I looked up to, in a way she helped in making me want to dance, even though as I got older, I love for dance expanded into different styles I will always have a true love and high respect for classical ballet, it is the foundation of all my dancing.
Tamara Rojo was good enough to break the barriers into another country where she is truly loved. She is the perfect example of true dance, beauty and expression.

STEPHEN SONDHEIM

more information HERE

Stephen Joshua Sondheim (born March 22, 1930) is an American composer and lyricist for stage and film. He is the winner of an Academy Award, multiple Tony Awards (nine, more than any other composer) including the Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre (received 2008), multiple Grammy Awards, and a Pulitzer Prize. He has been described as "the greatest and perhaps best-known artist in the American musical theatre." His most famous scores include (as composer/lyricist) A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, and Assassins, as well as the lyrics for West Side Story and Gypsy. He was president of the Dramatists Guild from 1973 to 1981.

What makes him special?

I can imagine this is a really silly question…as if you know Sondheim and his work, then you know the answer to the question.
He transformed theatre completely and has produced some of the most incredible musical theatre work there is.
If you listen to a piece of Sondheim music its amazing how every note is thought out, he used to compose with the movement in mind, the movement, voice action inner though and music was all joined in Sondheim’s eyes.
Very complex and very hard to portray well.
Sometimes you will listen to a piece of music, then you will listen to the voice on its own and you will wonder, “how does that fit together?” it just does, with a lot of talent on behalf of the performers of course.
Sondheim’s stories are of my favourite such as “into the woods” one of my favourite stories of all time, the amount of subtext in every phrase or lyric is amazing, just sit down and read them and figure out what the character is “really” saying, it’s not always nice.
I truly love this mans work, and aspire to one day perform one of his pieces professionally.

A song about growing up
